Tuesday 11/6 Workout @24hr Fremont

Today I wanted to try a new exercise that I've always wanted to try but never was properly taught--the barbell clean. I figured if I could clean a kettlebell then why not a bb? Yeah, no. I definitely need practice and someone to correct me. I had to sacrifice some weight on the deadlift so that I could pull off a clean. Yup, definitely need more practice.

Also, there was a "grunter" working out about two stations away from me. He was a big guy and was deadlifting close to 400#'s. Very impressive. I'm guessing it was his 1 rep max day or maybe he needed an excuse to yell at something. I'd be happy too if I could deadlift that much. But I wouldn't be too happy about the spare tire around my waist, but that's just me. I'm not knockin' on this guy. In fact I considered asking him for some pointers on the deadlift. It's just I would rather be lean and cut than strong with a lot of fat covering my muscles...

1) Warm-up: Concept II Rower - Row 1000 meters

2) Superset: Deadlift + BB Clean 65#, Decline Push-ups (using racked BB) 6x10

3) Front Squat 7x7 95#
