FedEx Tech Support

I was preparing a shipment online yesterday and for some reason it would not go through. So I ended up calling FedEx. I end up getting this guy from the Philippines. I could tell because I could hear his accent and there was hella tagalog in the background. Let me just say that this was the most annoying guy I've ever encountered over the phone. Now I'm speaking from a customer service point of view. This guy did not listen very well. He sounded impatient and kept making the same comments and asking the same questions over and over. For example, he tells me to switch to Internet Explorer instead of using Firefox (even though I told him I've made numerous shipments using Firefox) because its what they supported. Whatever that means. If I want to use Firefox I should be able to use Firefox. Okay, so I close Firefox and open up IE and tell him that it's going to take me a while to enter all the information all over again. Either he didn't understand what "take a while" meant or he was a complete idiot because barely 30 seconds passed and he asked me if it worked. I again told him since he made me start over that it was going to take a few minutes. He asked me again a minute later! WTF! Not only that but while I was typing away, he kept saying that he understood that it was going to take while and kept saying, "Don't worry sir. I'm not going away. I'm right here." He kept saying those sentences again and again. Sometimes in a different order or even just one sentence or taking longer pauses in between them. HOLY GEEZ! I got the feeling that he was probably chatting online or texting someone while he was helping me.

Oh and I just remembered how the beginning of our conversation started.
"How are you today, sir?"
"I'm good. I just need help with shipping online."
"Your name sir?"
"Archie"
"How are you today, sir?"
WTF! You just asked me that! I could tell this phone call was not going to be pleasant. He definitely was not paying attention.

So I get to the part where I have to enter how much the item I'm shipping was worth. He advises me to enter dollar amounts and it just hits me. That's why it wouldn't process my shipment! I entered $.50 and not whole dollar amounts. So I went back and used Firefox (had to start over again) and completed the shipping order.

So, besides the fact the this guy had bad customer service, he actually solved the problem. I think he just got lucky. He's still an a-hole! I think I'll call back next week and see who I get. Maybe someone cool from the PI and then we could talk about ASAP. Baaaaaaaah!
